- Ohh Blop Blop Over Coral Reef -

After two weeks of carve the swan, or to be precisely actually two of 8 hours class, we moved to our next product. Fish and Coral Reef. Because we already have the basic of carving. So, Sir Azrul just needed to showed the sketch of the fish and told us which one needed to cut or not. We get the same size of stryrofoam but this time we doing this in team because after carve it, we needed to layer it with butter and called it ButterScuplture.

I was to obsessed and then not realized that i was cut one of the coral reef, then to make up my mistake. From the behind, I carve another coral reef though it is blocked by the fish. But from behind it is looked like this... but after we shaped the fish fin and tail...

Sir Azrul said it was a good critical thinking of us after doing a mistake. We finish the carve of the fish in a day. And the next class we continue in layering our fish with butter. Butter we used is pastry butter because it soft and are not melting easily like normal butter we use in cooking. First, we cover the fish and everything with butter. Like this...

Then Sir Azrul showed us the technic how to make the fish scales..

Then one by one shape it on the fish body to make scales..

What to do next? Fill the fish body, Fins and tail with scales. Front to back and leave the coral reef with plain  coated butter.

    Only 1 comment from me, next time try to give the fish more details like the bones of the fin, tails, etc just to bring up the fish look more alive. Example u guys can make a one straight line on the fin or tails then carve it out, it depends on your creativity.
    Hope to see your butter sculpture more in the future.

    @mikelyn, wow. yeah for sure I'll give more effort on give my sculpture best look. Hahahaha. I even thought about that to make in on details but, don't have much time loll so i'm just making it looked simple. o want to add, like the coral reef.. maybe i'll just makes a few holes and rough look. like a real one huh?

  3. Ya2, thats what I mean. I guess Art took time, you can't rush art. hehe. But its ok, good start. Hope you guys can make it more better. Be a kitchen artist. And this is baby step into the carving, once you guys can make this, you guys can proceed to the fruit carving, chocolate carving and Ice carving as well. As long you have the basic, kesabaran, minat dan tahan lasak. And2 korang kene pandai melukis, korang ade praktis kat rumah x melukis goose ape semua tu?. Mesti ade kan?, Ape2 involved carving kene pandai melukis. And banyak tngk figure la. Mcm ice carving kene tngk statue/figure yg berkaca. Belek2 every detail, blik rumah try lukis. Mesti dpt punya. Janji ko ade minat, kesabaran dan tahan lasak. Ni aku crite psal ice carving, advance sngt la pulak.haha.
